Frequently Asked Questions Detail

Q: Speed Dial 8 and Speed Dial 30
A: Speed Dial 8 (allows you to assign phone numbers to up to 8 single-digit codes that you press to automatically dial the number)

To set it up:
• type * 7 4 on your phone keypad
• wait for a confirmation tone
• enter any digit from 2 - 9 to be used as the code to trigger automatic dialing
• then enter the full 10-digit telephone number that you are assigning to that speed dial code

(what about assigning long distance numbers prefaced by the digit 1 or assigning international numbers prefaced by international calling codes?)

Speed Dial 30 (allows you to assign phone numbers to up to 30 two-digit speed dial codes that you press to automatically dial the number)

• type * 7 4 on your phone keypad
• wait for a confirmation tone
• enter any two-digit pair from 20 - 49 to be used as the code to trigger automatic dialing
• then enter the full 10-digit telephone number that you are assigning to that speed dial code

(what about assigning long distance numbers prefaced by the digit 1 or assigning international numbers prefaced by international calling codes?)

NOTE: Speed dial processing does not take effect until about ten seconds after you enter the speed dial code. Therefore, if you are dialing a standard 10-digit phone number that begin with the same digits as a speed dial code, the system will interpret your key presses as a speed dial unless you enter the successive numbers in before ten seconds go by!
